Progress Badges

Show your community how successful your readers are.

Show everyone how amazing your readers are!

Reader Zone has an excellent feature that allows you to show the world how your readers are doing in real time.

On the Dashboard, you will find a menu item for “Progress Badges”  Yo can select the reading program and groups you’d like to show on the badge.  The selector looks like this.

Use the drop down menu called Programs to select the reading program for which you want to build a badge. The badge will, by default, show all the metrics for that reading program. If you want to show one, or a few, reading group(s) within the program, use the Group drop down menu to select the group(s) you want to show on the badge.

Options for data that appears on the badge are:

1. A specified time frame, a selected range of groups.

2. Whether you want to display cumulative totals, or, the average reading totals for participants in selected groups.

3. Inserting your own school or library logo on the badge.

4. The visual design for the badge. .

If you are running a contest, you can select the "Leaderboard" badge that will show either cumulative or average reading totals for groups or individual readers in the selected contest.

As you select different mixes of groups, the badge on the screen will display exactly what would appear once the badge is applied to your web page.

With the badge built, you have some options:

  1. Share the badge directly to a Facebook account.
  2. Download the HTML snippet for the badge that can be posted to any web page.
  3. Download a jpeg image of the badge that you can use however you see fit.

The html code snippet will pull the badge information in real-time.  As readers make entries the badge will update in real-time on the web page.. If you decide you’d like your badge to display data for a different set of reading programs and/or groups, you will need to select the settings for the badge and re-copy the snippet.

You can save any badge you make for future use and reference. If you do save a badge and post it to an external web page, deleting the badge from your Reader Zone account will not remove it from any web page on which it appears.

**Tip:  If you decide you’d like your badge to display data for a different set of reading programs and/or groups, you will need to select the settings for the badge and re-copy the snippet.
