Readers of all ages love earning points and badges as they log reading and earn goals.

Here’s how Experience Points and Badges are awarded:

Experience Points

Experience Points are awarded on the following schedule:

1 point each time a reader makes a reading entry.
3 points each time a reader earns the “Nailed it” badge.
5 points each time a reader earns the “Turkey” badge
10 points each time a reader earns the “Perfect” badge.

The Experience Point icon is always visible on the reading log page of the app.

Nailed it badge

“Nailed It” badge is earned when a reader reaches 85% or more of a goal for one interval.

For example, if a goal is to read 100 pages per month, they earn the badge if they read 85 or more pages for the month.

The reader receives the badge and 3 additional Experience Points.

Turkey Badge

Turkey is earned when a reader reaches 85% or more of a goal for three consecutive goal intervals.

Using the same model above, if a reader log 85 or more pages for three consecutive months, the Turkey badge is awarded.  The reader receives the badge and 5 additional Experience Points.

Perfect Badge

Perfect is earned when a reader reaches 85% or more of a goal for the entire goal period.  If a goal is to read 100 pages per month for an entire school year, the Perfect badge is awarded at the conclusion of the school year if the reader has read 85% or more for every goal interval for the entire goal.  The reader receives the badge and 10 additional Experience Points.

Participants earn badges and experience points as they enter reading and reach goals.

Badges and experience points stay with the reader through multiple reading programs.

All the badges a reader earns appear in the “Trophy Case” on a user’s dashboard.  A user can earn an unlimited number of badges over the life of their account.
